Dancing King

Ryan LOVES to dance.  I'm sad to say that he didn't get his moves from me.  Here are some videos of him bustin' a move.

p.s.  That high score of 78 belongs to your truly.  BAM!

Bun-cha

I'm pretty sure that I didn't even remotely spell that right (or that I'm even saying it right in the video)...but it means "twinkle" in Korean.  At my parents every time we went to Costco and saw the Christmas lights, my Mom would take Ryan to look at them.  He'll open and shut his hands when you say Bun-cha...I think it's pretty cute.

Denver

We had a fun time in Denver spending Thanksgiving with Roo's family.  I'm only up 2 pounds...so I consider that a success.  It was fun to see Ryan play with his cousins (well...they mostly built with Lego's...and then he destroyed what they built), but they all had a fun time together.
Some pictures of our travels to Denver.  This time we mixed it up by stopping at a Wendy's instead of BK.  And now Ryan generally won't be still enough for you to hold him to take a picture.

Excited to be with Nana and Papa

Roo's parents just got an awesome new car...Ryan obviously enjoyed because able to watch a DVD as opposed to hearing Roo and I sing 'The Wheels on the Bus' as entertainment

Ryan took a little spill and scraped his nose and his gums...poor guy.  So we were good parents and gave him ice-cream to take his mind off of it.

At the start of our trip home I didn't want Ryan to play with my sunglasses (he tends to bend them).  About 5 hours into it...I didn't care.  As long as he was happy.

Ryan playing Baby Jesus.  While it may look like he is surround by angels, it's just because the camera is all dirty.  Another thing I eventually gave up on and let him play with.

Daddy's helper

A couple of weeks ago I bought 2 dressers and an end table from Wal-Mart.  I've been wanting a dresser for a LONG time (I'd been using some ghetto plastic drawers for the past year and a half).  We looked at a furniture store and the cheapest dressers we found were about $250.  Wal-Mart had some for $50.  Of course after the 2 hours that it took us to assemble 1...I definitely think paying the extra money would have been worth it!!  I didn't take pictures of us assembling the dresser, mainly because we were extremely frustrated when we were doing it.  So here's some pics from the end table which only took about 20 minutes.
Ry-Ry being very helpful

Doesn't it look like he knows exactly what he's doing?

If you ever stay in our guest room and the table falls apart...we'll blame Ryan.

Trying to be a little too helpful with the hammer.  It has kind-of scary how he was swinging it.

After all his hard work he decided to play in his toy bin

Sunday

...and a random picture from Friday because I did my hair.  And Ry-Ry's.  Like an old man.  I thought it was cute...Roo was a little embarrassed.  Thankfully Ryan didn't know what was going on.

Us all ready for a lunch at Roo's squadron

After church Roo raked the leaves

with help from Ryan of course

Such a big helper!

After Ryan finished raking the leaves...he vacuumed the street.

Are we good neighbors or what?

Playing in his toy bin with his new football...I'm pretty sure he's going to be an NFL MVP.  I'm calling it now.

Bubbles and dinner time

Ryan LOVES bubbles.  Unfortunately for him, I do NOT love blowing them.  I get tired of it after about 30 seconds (I almost bought a bubble gun today.  Am I lazy or what?).  Luckily Roo is such a fun Dad and blows them for Ryan.  Here is some video of him popping them.

Here is some video of Ryan eating dinner.  Without a fork.  **Roo does not normally push Ryan's face into his food.  This was done for our enjoyment**

Fun times

here are some pics from this week...nothing too exciting--mostly trying to please the Grandparents.

Roo was great and watched Ryan twice last week so I could go out.  They had a TON of fun together.  Just look at Ryan.

All dressed for church.  Normally he wears his pajamas...but I figure now that he's in nursery I should start dressing him in church clothes.  In our family--jeans ARE dressy.

Ryan LOVES rocks.  When he is outside he runs to our neighbors yard and gets a handful.

He likes sitting in this chair.  I did take a picture of the front of our house...but my Mom warned me against crazies who can find out where you live from just a picture.  So now I'm afraid to post it.  Thanks Mom.

More mall pics

Tonight at the mall the boys decided to get their pictures taken...though half way through I heard Ryan crying so I snuck into the booth with them.  The pictures were supposed to be in color...but as you can tell the machine must have been low on ink.  So I called the phone # listed...and am waiting for my $3 refund to come in the mail.  Sweet.

More ducks

We went back to the park and fed ducks today.  I like to think that we're single-handily saving them during winter.  It was a beautiful day so I thought I'd let Ryan enjoy it.

There was a dog at the park too...as you can tell, Ryan was pretty excited.

My Mom thought I should put up pics showing how much Ryan has changed...so here are some from the first time that we went to feed ducks.  Obviously he enjoys it a little more now.

Videos

Here are some videos of Ryan this week.

Praying before dinner.  I should pray that he keeps the food in his mouth longer than 2 seconds.

Tonight we went on our weekly date to Wal-Mart.  Try not to be jealous.  I've found that it helps to give Ryan a suitcase to push around.  One day I'll be a good citizen and put it away in the aisle that I got it instead of whichever aisle I'm in when he gets tired of it.

Days 10 & 11

I am so thankful for nap time!!  It is my: work on homework, pick up the house so Roo doesn't think I'm a total slob, take a quick shower (again so Roo doesn't think I'm a total slob), play some Bejewled on Facebook, and catch up on my Law & Order time.  It's going to be a very sad day when Ryan decides to stop taking naps.

I am also very thankful for the GI Bill.  Sometimes it's the only thing motivating me to do my homework.  I really can't complain when I'm getting paid to go to school.  Sometimes I like to tell myself it's like I'm on a cheer leading scholarship.  Minus the cheer leading.

Day 9 of Thanksgiving: Our mall

I am thankful for our tiny mall.  It is the perfect place for me to take Ryan to run around (where he can only get into minimal trouble).  This picture was taken on a Friday night...and that's about the busiest that I've seen it.  When I took the picture, JCPenny was behind me, and Bealls' and Sear's are down a hall way.  And that's it.

30 days of thankful: Day 8

A couple of my friends have been doing the "30 Days of Thankful" on their blogs/FB pages...so I thought that I would too.  I'm always grateful for Thanksgiving because it's the perfect time for me to reflect on all of my blessings.  Each year I promise myself that I'm going to have more of an attitude of Thanksgiving for the other 11 months...but before I know it it's November again.  I'm kind-of cheating and just skipping to day 8 (I can think of 7 more things that I'm thankful for...but it's been a long day and NCIS is waiting for me on DVR).

I just want to give a quick shout out to my Dad for his b-day...we love you!!

I am thankful for Roo's job.  Even though there are times that he works long hours and is gone from us for long periods of time...I know that it is a blessing for him to have a job, let alone a job that he loves.  I am thankful that his job provides for our family so that I am able to stay home (though some days I'm more thankful than others). I know that it's important for our family that I stay home, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to do so.

Combat Dining-Out

Saturday Roo's squadron had a Combat Dining-Out.  It was my first time going to one...it was pretty interesting.  It was fun getting to meet Roo's co-workers (since he still doesn't have a picture of me up on his desk...but that's a whole other post).  Overall I think that Roo is going to have a fun time in his new squadron...everyone seemed really nice!!  On a side note, it was the first time we had a sitter come to our house...and she said Ryan did great.  Of course he ate dinner for her, and laid down right at 8:00.  I was hoping that he would be good for her so that she'd want to come back sometime.  Plus she even finished our laundry....so I'd say it was worth every $.
Mostly posting this just to embarrass Roo

I went to show off at our neighbors and she said I looked like I was a little kid playing dress up

What a handsome couple...if I may say so myself.

Gotta love close-ups!

Another picture of me.  Hey, if I do my hair and put on make-up (and actually have my eyes open in a picture)...you better believe I'm posting it.  And yes, it is kind-of awkward taking pics of myself in the mirror.

What Ryan really does during nap time

Randoms

Ryans' hair is getting so long.  My Mom thinks that we should grow it out.  LONG.  I guess we could since he has Roo's thick eyebrows; people probably won't mistake him for a girl.

Such a big boy!

Eating lunch.  I did start off by attempting to feed him some noodles.  Of course by the end I gave up and just gave him yogurt.  I figure that you have to pick your battles.  Plus yogurt calories are probably better than M&M calories, and also better than 0 calories.

Feeding ducks

The other day I took Ryan to feed the ducks.  We had some left over hamburger buns from a BBQ, and instead of letting them get stale in our pantry like I normally do, I thought to put them to use.  The ducks and geese LOVED it.  I had some video of them running to us...but their legs are short and it was like 2 minutes long.  They get kind-of aggressive...as you can see by them taking the bread from his hand.

Pumpkin time

Yesterday Ryan and I finally got around to painting our pumpkins.  Roo thought this was a totally lame idea, but I figured that it'd be easier than handing Ryan a knife to carve his with.  He really enjoyed it (until he got distracted by our neighbor playing football).  Thankfully for the 5 minutes that he was into it our neighbor came over and was our photographer.  By the way Roo...yours is the only plain pumpkin on our porch.  Who's lame now?
Getting ready

I think that I make a pretty good paint supervisor

He would want to re-dip the brush after every stroke

Maybe he's going to be a lefty

Towards the end I gave him a Sharpie because I thought it's be easier a.k.a less mess for me to clean up

Such talent!
