Boating

Last weekend we went boating with some friends. There's a lake about an hour a way that we've always been wanting to check out...but without having a boat it hadn't happened yet.
Ryan enjoyed throwing rocks into the water

The nice brown water.  Maybe I've been spoiled by my trips to California...but not all bodies of water are created equal.  But considering we live in Clovis, I'm not complaining.

Ryan was pretty unsure about the boat at first.

Roo was the first to get into the water to go on a tube ride.

Lovely
We had a few issues trying to get onto the tube.  Actually I always made it up successfully...once Roo tried to join me the problems started.

Such hard work!

We finally made it!!  Just in time for the boat to be DEAD.  As in we had to wait for help to come rescue us DEAD.  Sure glad I got my hair wet.
After an eventful day the kids enjoyed playing on the rocks.
Ryan loved being in the water.  I definitely want to sign him up for swim lessons.
I just kind-of like my arms in this picture...so I had to post it.
The boys swimming.

No hands!

Enjoying our picnic lunch before heading home.

Budget reality

On the 15th we started on our "cash only budget".  So obviously, when it was the 26th it was time for us to cash in our change jar to get dessert.  Roo spilled some of it as we were walking in and I told him it must have looked sad that we were running around to pick up the change from the Wal-mart parking lot.  We had a bet going that who ever guessed closest to the amount we had didn't have to pick dessert (a real treat since we're both indecisive).  Roo guessed $18 and I guessed $22.

**PS Mom & Dad/in-laws--we don't need money.  We still have enough to get your Grandkid chocolate milk**
The boys showing off our jar...with Ryan's hair flowing in the wind.  Can we cut it yet Mom?

I WON!!  We had $32.19.  Though out of all the options Roo picked Burger King...so maybe I didn't win.

Girls weekend

Last night some friends and I went to the big city of Lubbock to spend the night. They are the same friends that I wrote about when we went last year...and let me just say that it was WAY more amazing without kids.    We all love our children...but it was so nice to get to walk around the mall at a leisurely pace instead of having to lug around/chase after kiddos.  Much thanks to our wonderful baby daddies who made the night possible!
LeAnna and I enjoying ice-cream cones as big as my head.  And I have a big head...her husband measured. In our defense we both had a Groupon and had to get our monies worth.

The three of us.  Thankfully Meichelle didn't go into labor on our trip

The result of being able to shop on our own.  I think it's a small price to pay for our sanity.

Talented kid

How Ryan chills at the Y.  Preparing him for a life in the circus.

Fun times

Ryan playing in the house Roo made (sadly he hasn't been in it since)

Having fun with Daddy

Ryan's awesome drawing of an airplane.  I think he's gifted.

Randoms

A picture from Ryan's party with the Penguins (my Dad's bowling team)

Being funny on the drive from Abq.

West Side.  Actually he was doing 2...but by the time I took a picture it turned into a gang sign

Watching the "Wheels on the Bus" on YouTube (which needs to have a repeat button in my opinion)

Cheating at Chuck E Cheese.  Hey...other kids were doing it too.

Modeling my sunglasses

Patiently waiting for the balls to come back.  Which they never did.  If it would have cost more than a quarter I would've complained.

And just a random picture of pigs feet that my Mom eats.  Because I'm mature like that.

It's official...

Roo is officially smarter than me. Congrats!! Go OU!

Our weekend

Here are some pictures from our weekend:
Ryan pouring himself some syrup.  The funny thing is that two seconds before this happened I was in the bathroom thinking "I think I left the lid off the syrup".  What a stinker!

Our church had a spaghetti dinner and cake auction for a fundraiser.  This was the cake that we won (it looked better with all of the Whoppers on it).  We gave half of it away to our neighbors...and I ate the remaining 5/6.  If that's even mathematically possible.

Ryan looking all handsome for church.  Since it was Mother's Day Roo was in charge of getting him ready and I think he did a great job!

Playing with Daddy's watch

Since it was Mother's Day I didn't have to do my hair (I just made up that rule)

We borrowed a friends truck so of course we had to buy a lawn mower and patio furniture.  Ryan mostly liked playing in the box

Best cake ever

Ok...so my title is a little deceiving.  Maybe I should have said "Ryan's best 2 year old cake ever...except for the one my Dad got".  We had some friends over for dinner the other night and decided to use them as our "rent a crowd" for Ryan's cake.
I LOVE our friends.  You know they're good friends when they point out how the cake is indented.  I had some issues baking it.

Roo did an awesome job decorating

...I on the other hand should work on my handwriting.

Ta-da!

So excited!

Enjoying everyone singing to him

I can't believe that he's 2!
