A fair trade

My parents sent us a huge box of the most delicious cookies ever.  No, seriously.  So I decided to repay them with some pics of their cutest Grandson.  I'm think it's about an even trade.
They were so good that for our block party today I bought some cookies from Sams Club so that I didn't have to share these (sorry neighbors!)

Feeding himself.  It's SO messy...but at least he eats a bit more than when I try to feed him.

self portrait.

Am I the coolest Mom or what?

To try to give Ryan a fun place to sit...I piled up all of the junk that I am too lazy to put away and stashed it in Roo's man cave/office.  100 cool Mom points to me...though I lose about 200 cool wife points for never using those mats that Roo bought for me to exercise on.

Fun and feeding ducks

We got some snow Wednesday so today as it was melting Ryan had a fun time playing in the puddles.  Some how he rolled his pumpkin off the porch into the puddle (and later today he was throwing it like a ball).  Thankfully it didn't break apart.

Today we decided to take advantage of warmer weather and go feed the ducks.  We had a fun time, though it wasn't quite as warm as I thought it was and I should have put Ryan in his big jacket.
 Walking with Daddy

The ducks were HUNGRY.  I'm thinking that since it's gotten cold out not too many people have been going to feed them.  A couple times I got pretty freaked out.

Don't know why the pics aren't in order...but here you can see the ducks running to us.

As soon we we started walking towards them they booked it out of the water and hurried to us.

 So cute!!

Trunk-or-Treat

This week we went to a Trunk-or-Treat at our church...and had a fun time!!  It was the first time that we had gone to back to church here as a family, so probably 50% of the people we didn't know.  It was fun though to see old friends and see how much the other kids have grown.

Roo was in charge of picking out an outfit for Ryan.  I suggested Yoda, but he came up with:
and I have to admit that it was super cute.  Unfortunately Ryan wouldn't keep the head dress on.  Not surprised.

Enjoying wearing fringe.

I caught the end of the a wink.  Our camera is SO slow!

So excited to get some candy

Us before the fun began.  I felt a little weird walking around with him getting candy.  I know that everyone was thinking about how I was going to be the one eating it.  Which I was.

Checking out what was going on.

Mall pics

I took Ryan to walk around our mall yesterday.  Though I dis-like how small it is...I LOVE that there are hardly any people there (maybe weekends are different) but yesterday there were like 5 other people there so I could let Ryan roam around.  He was fascinated by the picture booth...but by the time I put the $3 in, he totally lost interest.  Normally he's pretty good at smiling for the camera so I don't think that he knew what was going on.  P.S.  I know the last picture I look kind-of strange, but in the booth I was out of the circle that was on the screen, so I didn't think I would be in it.  Obviously I was.

Pumpkin Patch

We decided to take advantage of the sun (it's still in the 80s here) and go to a local Pumpkin patch.  We had a fun time watching the pumpkin rocket, getting a hay ride, and collecting rocks.  O.k....only Ryan did the last one.

Obviously Roo didn't get the memo to dress like a pumpkin

Blending in...can you see him?

me trying to make him smile...obviously I should have worried about my own smile

the oldest tractor ever.  ok..probably not.  It was pretty old though.

He was having fun sitting on the pumpkins

Must get the rock.

mission accomplished

Us on the hay ride

We got to go to a field and pick our pumpkins

I need to hit the Y tomorrow thanks to these guys.  And yes...they were as good as you would expect.

Christmas present idea

After seeing this video I'm thinking about getting Roo a puffer vest.  Pretty awesome!!  And I still wish Roo would have taken me to see them in Vegas.

It must be a family thing

In most pictures that I take I realize that my eyes are either shut...or I just look weird.  After the weekend spent in Spokane I've realized that it must be been in my DNA.
For the record Andy said that he was taking a serious picture...I'm not too sure about it.

Obviously it's rubbed off already on Ryan

My trick to not showing wrinkles around my eyes...just keep them shut.

Happy Anniversary!!

I am the worst daughter ever.  Yesterday was my parents 33rd Anniversary...and I didn't do anything for them.  I did buy them a card, but I've learned that if you don't fill it out and give it to them it's pointless.  I couldn't find any wedding pictures (maybe it hasn't been 33 years and they don't want us to do the math.)  So I chose this picture in stead.  They started out their married life living with my Mom's parents in a trailer until Andy and I came along.  I don't know about you...but that doesn't exactly sound like a 'honeymoon' to me.  They have always been willing to do whatever they could for my brother and I to make us happy.  I know that I've talked about how they bailed me out financially when I was younger, and considering that my Mom grew up POOR (like South Korean poor) and is an Accountant--I'm sure that wasn't easy for her.  You don't mess with her money (but she was kind and is only charging me 10% interest--which 8 years later is enough to buy a house).  I'll always remember how my Dad would let me take the car to school (which was only a mile or so walk) and he would ride his bike to work (which was WAY further).  I thought that the time he just liked riding his bike, but I know now that he did it because he loved me.  I am so thankful for them and the example that they are to me and how much they love me!

Don't judge us

Though we don't have any video of him pushing it around in the mall...we did bring Ryan's toy lawn mower so that we could shop.  Hey...a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do.

CAT DIARY

Day 1783 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a ’good little hunter’ I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ’allergies.’ I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

Spokane

We had a fun weekend in Spokane.  I got to see some old friends, my brother, and my Uncle.  Poor Ryan got a cold and cut a tooth...but he was such a trooper!

Waiting to go on the carousal downtown.  He wasn't feeling it at all!  I went with him first and we sat in a carriage...my Mom took him next and put him on a horse.  Half way through the stopped the ride...because he was slipping off.  Don't worry...she didn't let him fall.

Throwing pennies in the fountain with Grandpa for good luck.

We went down to the river to feed ducks.  They love chocolate chip cookies by the way.

Andy and I intently gazing at the river.  I have to admit I kind-of like this picture of myself.  I'm thinking I could make a career of modeling the side of my face from about 20 feet away.

I told my Mom to take a picture of us when we were at least looking.

Ryan was trying to pet the duck (or whatever bird this is)

My Uncle and his wife are seasoned Grandparents and they had this cool bubble wand.

My Mom didn't get a picture of my full bubble making glory...but some of them were at least the size of my rear.  Which is pretty substantial.

Supervising the activity

Andy's b-day cake.  He turned 32!  At least I'll always be younger!
