Bowling League

If you've read my blog before you know that Ryan LOVES bowling. During one of my numerous trips to the bowling alley last week they told me about bowling league and suggested that I take Ryan to it.  I wasn't sure how he'd do since they play 3 games (his max is normally 2.  Then he'll start laying down on the lanes).  He actually did really well...though I think it'll be too much waiting around if he was actually bowling with 5 other kids.
Really proud of my boy!

Waiting for the fun to start

Patiently waiting

He was the youngest one there and did a really good job.  It was tough to get him to wait his turn...he still needs to work on his bowling etiquette.

Ryan has a real thing with IPads and trains right now (I guess there could be worse things for him to be into).  Here are some pictures of him enjoying them.

We built a mini fort the other night...he was pretty impressed.

Nothing like watching a train go by as you're holding your trains.

He even falls asleep with them.

Randoms

We've tried to make the most of the "extra" time that we have with Roo...here are some pictures of what we've been up to.

Going to feed the ducks (as you can tell by Ryan's grip on his train...he LOVES it).

He got a little scared going through the car wash

 ...still scared

We went to a local store for a tractor show where he found these little garbage trucks.  If they weren't $5 I would have gotten him one.

 Posing by a tractor

Holding hands at the park

This doesn't look very comfortable...but I guess it is!

When he watched the IPad he likes to be either stepping/sitting/ or laying on someone...as you can see.

Best Birthday Ever

We celebrated my birthday a day early since Roo had to fly on my actual birthday.  We went to dinner with some of my friends at my favorite restaurant...Taco Bell.  Delicious!  Then we had them over for some yummy cake that Roo made.
Don't judge his cake by how it looks.  Or my housekeeping skills by how messy our counters are.

I know that I've said it before...but I really love my friends.  I might actually shed a tear when we move from here because of them.

Using Ryan's old candle...he loves blowing it out.

Making memories

...or at least that's what I tell myself we're doing to keep me motivated.  Ryan LOVES to be a helper in the kitchen.  As most Moms know this adds way more time and cleaning up to even the simplest of tasks.  I'm trying to be patient and remember that we're making some fun memories (which will hopefully cancel out the ones he has of me putting him in timeout).  So far we've made some pretzels and a whole bunch of cookies.
Waiting for Dad to roll out the pretzels.

Helping roll them

Such a good job

Thumbs up for pretzels!

I think here we were making low-fat banana bread...which was just gross.

At least he had fun mixing it!

Wreck 'em Tech

We had a fun time at the game...we even made it into the fourth quarter--which with a two year old is pretty impressive.  Our seats were in the shade, we got nachos, and Tech ended up winning...so overall I'd say it was an awesome day.

Wearing our expensive new shirts.  I guess we'll just have to go to more games.  We got to ride a bus to the stadium which made Ryan really happy.

Posing at some of the pre-game festivities

No pre-game would be complete with out a tractor.  For a low price of $16,500--you could own this one.

The band.  It was pretty neat

Ryan bowling.  This kept him busy for about 20 glorious minutes.  Until he knocked all of the bottles down the stadium.

Ryan's new pose.

Driving and Chuck E Cheese

Saturday we went to Lubbock for a football game and decided to trip to Lubbock is complete without a stop to Chuck E Cheese. For future reference I've learned not to tell Ryan that we're going there until we're almost there.  An hour and a half of him saying "Chuck E Cheese" is a long time.  A very long time.
Not quite sure what he was doing.  Possibly wanting to flick a booger out the window...that's how we roll.

Stopped for lunch on the way

So happy!!

Last week Ryan locked himself in his room during nap time. I took the doorknob off and still couldn't figure it out. Thankfully Roo was able to come home and figure out how to unlock it in about 10 seconds. While we were waiting for Roo I was able to give Ryan a sucker through the hole to keep him happy.

We also went to the park to feed the ducks.  We had a TON of buns left over from a BBQ so we thought we'd donate it to the ducks instead of just letting it go bad. I think they appreciated it.
Ryan has gotten better at holding our hands...which is very nice!

The ducks heard us coming!

This is Ryan's new picture face.  I guess we owe it to my Mom for teaching him how to wink.

After feeding the ducks we took Ryan to our zoo...I think he enjoyed it.
