Highlights of January

I have done an AWFUL job at taking pictures this trip...but I promise that I have been having a good time.  Here are some highlights from the past month:
  • solo trip to San Diego.  LOVED it.  One morning I went for a run (o.k...more like a brisk walk) down to the pier and sat out in the sun for an hour.  Just because I could.
  • caught up on my movies.  I watched Red Tails, Sherlock Holmes, Contraband, Haywire, and The Grey.  I wouldn't recommend watching the last two.  When I told my Mom that I watched 'The Grey' and that I didn't like the ending she said, "Isn't that rated R?  That's what you get for not following the prophet."  Amen Mom.
  • solo trip to Seattle this past weekend.  Watched a movie at 10 pm then watched the Austrailian Open at midnight.  Again..just because I could.  PS...I would highly recommend to any Mom to getting away if you can.  Though you may have to bribe your Mom with the promise of another grandkid to get her to consent to babysit.
  • many trips to Korean restaurants.  And Costco.
  • hearing Ryan laugh with his Grandpa (who pretty much watched him all weekend I was gone...thanks Dad!)
  • our weekly outings to the bowling alley to watch my Dad's bowling team.  Ryan is such good luck!
  • did I mention Costco?

Better late than never!

While in Chicago, we took advantage of being in a decent sized city to look at some Christmas lights (we were highly disappointed with the ones who found in Clovis).  Ryan really got a kick out of them.

We're still alive!

Sorry I've been MIA lately...I've been in a bit of a funk.  I don't think having a few days to myself in wonderfully sunny SoCal  last weekend...and stepping off the plane into snow in Seattle helped.  I am grateful to my parents for watching Ryan so that I would go and have a great time...and even though we're snowed in I'm grateful to be here letting Ryan get some quality Grandparent time.

Who needs a sled when you have a garbage can lid?

Such a big helper!

Great Grandpa Bud

Ryan and I had a fun time last week in Chicago visiting his Great Grandpa...though you can't tell it from the first picture.  Ryan was definitely a hit...which by default made me a hit since I was the one who birthed him.  I definitely need to hang out at more retirement homes!

In Ryan's defense, I was out shopping all day so he hadn't had a nap.

His shirt is what happens when you leave him with Grandpa all day...though I do have to say that my Dad was a rockstar and watched Ryan twice so that I could go wander the mall aimlessly.  On both of those days Ryan didn't get a nap..which is hard enough!

Christmas

I am obviously a little slow at putting up pictures...sorry!  We had a very fun and relaxing Christmas...and I wish I could say that I look so rough in the pictures because we woke up early...but unfortunately this was after church.  So I don't have any excuses.

So fun!

Looking so grown up in his "Christmas outfit"...which also doubles as his church and going to Roo's work outfit.
