Snow day

Monday we got a snow day...even Roo got to stay home from work!  Ryan loved helping shovel the snow and he actually made it longer than I thought he would outside.

 Getting dressed to go help

Not a bad snow storm for Clovis!

Putting his back into it.  The weekend that we were in Abq we found some sunglasses for Ryan that he actually want to wear...though it wasn't the best with his hat on.

I even got creative and let him color the snow.

Showing how deep the snow was.

At least there is photographic evidence that I even got involved shoveling too...though I still don't know why I wasn't wearing a jacket.

Here's some video of him being a great helper!

Presidents Day weekend

This past weekend we decided to take advantage of the 4 day weekend and go to Abq.  We had a lot of fun!  It's always nice to get out of town for a little bit.

This picture was taken in Clovis...they just opened a Fro Yo place which we love.  Though I probably like it more than anyone else.

In Abq. we were able to get a date night in because our friends parents live there and they were able to watch Ryan.  We had a hard time deciding what to do...but after a little bit of convincing I talked Roo into painting pottery.  He wasn't too thrilled at the beginning but I think he had a good time.

The early stages of my plate.  Though it doesn't look like much it's pretty impressive when you realize that I have zero artistic ability.

 Everyone getting started

Yes, I know that I should have sketched out Seahawks to see if it would even fit.  No, it didn't.

The finished products!  Not bad for our first time.  Roo has even been coming up with ideas for when we go next...I think it's safe to say he enjoyed it.

After pottery we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.  Delicious!  The wait was an hour and a half...but with no kids, no problem.  With kids we would have gone to McDonalds.

Enjoying IHOP and chilling in Daddy's glasses

After breakfast we burned off the pancakes by taking Ryan to the park...I think he wanted to be wearing shorts.

Trying to get some color to his legs.

Checking out of the hotel.  He rolled the suitcase all the way down the hall by himself.

Before we left the big city we went to buy Ryan some more clothes and he actually wanted to get some sunglasses.  Such a cool dude!

Valentine's Day

Ryan definitely lucked out the best out of the three of us on Valentines.  Last week he got another package, this time from Nana and Papa.  He's spoiled!

Excited to open the package.  It's funny that Roo was so careful to try to clean up the living room before taking the picture.

Obviously he missed a few spots.

 Ryan inspecting all his loot.

 Obviously he enjoyed the chocolates.

Though I think he most enjoyed the garlic press.  Which I'll have to remind myself is in the shoe box...obviously he thought that was a good place for it.

I went to Wal-Mart Valentine's Eve to try to pick some things up for Roo.  Big mistake.  It was CRAZY there.  I did manage to get a card that was ginormous.

Serving Kimchi

The other day when we were outside playing, Ryan decided to go serve me some Kimchi.  I'm not sure where this kid comes up with this stuff!

Circus

Earlier this week I found a Groupon to the circus in Amarillo.  We went last year and Ryan really enjoyed it so I thought we'd check it out.  Though as soon as I told him about it he kept saying that he didn't want to go to the circus and that he wanted to stay home.  We took him anyways.  I think that he ended up enjoying it...though I think that what he enjoyed most was the elephants pooping a ton while they were performing.

One of the perks of living in the middle of no-where...dust storms.

Finally excited for the circus!  Or maybe he was just excited for the Cheetos.  It was probably the later.

 It was really bad out...

Watching the elephants.  Thankfully he didn't want to ride it.  Especially since it was $10.

 Probably in a food coma.

Being silly with Dad (yes, that's still Roo.  He's just growing out his hair).  I think it's a pre-mid life crisis.

Just showing how much he's grown since last year.  One the way I was telling Roo that we can take pictures of him for the next 3 years.  Since that's how long we'll be here.  Yay!

They look so handsome!  I actually almost wore the same shirt but changed last minute.  That would have been strange.  PS--that popcorn was $8!  Ryan really wanted it.  Go figure that I ate about $7.25 worth of it.

Poor Ryan

Ryan's bff got a toy car for Christmas that he LOVES playing with.  I wasn't really sure how much he would enjoy riding one...but once I saw that he really enjoyed it I started looking around on line for a cheaper one.  I found this gem for $8.  Sadly this was the only time he rode it.  It went about .05 mph.  And I'm sure that my Dad would be so proud...but Ryan was the one who wanted to wear his helmet.

 Being silly.

After the 5 seconds of riding the car we decided to take Ryan to go bike riding around the duck pond.  Obviously he did not want to take off his helmet.  So he pretty much wore it all day.

Valentine's Package

Ryan was lucky and got a Valentine's Day package this week (I didn't know what it was or I wouldn't have opened it so soon).  It had lots of candy, toys, and even a penguin card signed by the whole penguin team...he's one lucky boy!
