For grandma

My mom is leaving for Korea today and she's going to be gone for a little over a month.  She's going to go to a school to learn the art of translation (translating Korean into English).  In true 'my mom' fashion she hasn't even lined up a place to stay--she's planning on just spending the night in spas (there you can just sleep on the floor and use a locker for your stuff during the day).  I sure love her sense of adventure!  We miss you already and hope you have a great trip!

Last week we checked out a new bowling alley that I'd heard good things about...and it was a hit!  The theme is under water and Ryan is on a big shark kick right now so he really enjoyed it.

Ryan hadn't bowled in forever--the last time we went he crossed the line and slipped so he was scared to go.  Thankfully Roo was patient in trying to teach him again.

He has great form!

Fun times

We had a fun weekend as a family.  There was a bbq festival in town which we checked out and later that day we went boating.   The weather is starting to get a bit cooler which I'm excited about!

One day before work Roo took Ryan fishing.   I feel kind of bad for Ty as he watched from the house and I'm excited for him to get to participate some day.

Ryan actually caught 2 fish...I guess they are super hungry around our house.

Ty looking at a horse--so far it seems like he's interested in all kinds of animals...especially birds.

Ryan was feeding the seagulls popcorn as we were riding in our boat.   They were pretty good at catching the kernels.

Roo was not too happy when one pooped on him.

Beach fun

Roo had the day off so after he picked Ryan up from school we decided to go check out the town if Seaside.  It was such a cute town and the beach was beautiful.  Tyler had a fun time playing in the sand and Ryan has fun swimming in the waves.  On the way home we drove past the Melting Pot so we decided that since we wouldn't be paying for a babysitter we might as well splurge.   Next time I'll pay for the babysitter.

Tyler is pretty much walking everywhere.   I still need to find good shoes for him.  I just couldn't pass up a picture of his footprints in the sand.

Ryans first day of school

Ryan started preschool this week.  In the state of Florida their preschool which is 3 hours a day is free so you know I was all over that.   Of course it was the first time in a long time both boys slept in so we were rushing to get ready.  I didn't remember to take a picture before school but at least I remembered after.  We celebrated after good first day by eating frozen yogurt after dinner.

Overall I think Tyler had the hardest time.  He didn't do very well at the gym because he normally spends most of the time crawling over Ryan.  I'm hoping he'll adjust soon.

Ryans name and a drawing (he said he drew a light)

He is so goofy!

Tyler is 1!

I can't believe that Tyler is 1!  I guess I need to stop saying that "I just had a baby".  Roo is out of town and we still don't know too many people here so we just had a fun family day.  We got Tyler a cupcake and a balloon (he loved it).  I'm sure when Roo gets back we'll do something more to celebrate.

Tyler has started walking more these past few days...I think today he took about 10 steps in a row.  He says 'mama' but I don't think he necessarily knows what it means.  He's definitely not sleeping thru the night but we'll work on that.  Even though I don't enjoy waking up every few hours I'm just trying to enjoy him being small.  I'm sure before I know it he'll be starting preschool,  which Ryan is tomorrow!

Enjoying his cupcake

Ryan helped open the cards from the Grandparents.   He did a pretty good job at realizing today was for Tyler.

Ryan helped picked out the ice cream we'd have--cherry vanilla.   It was a hit!

Birthday smiles!
