A few weekends ago we went to Roo's work Christmas Party.   It was nice to have an excuse to dress up and take the kids to a sitter.  We also went with some friends from church to watch a parade of boats (only in Florida!)

I'm not sure if I already posted this picture but Ty enjoys doing everything his big brother does.

Waiting for the parade to start

After the parade there was a fireworks show which was really neat.  So far we are really enjoying living in Florida!

Christmas list

Ryan made his Christmas list this year and I have to say I was quite impressed.  I am so glad that he is in school here because he is learning so much!   I'd like to think I'd have taught him how to write kids he stayed home with me...but honestly I'm sure his teacher does a much better job than I would.

Of course 2 things kid from his list are things I didn't plan on buying (I already bought him all that I was planning on).  He said we could erase and and he just wants the 2 things.   We ended up getting the main thing that he wanted (just because we could see it ruining christmas for him).  I guess if he wants a Matchbox airport it's the least I can do for him.   He's such a great boy!

Thanksgiving

I wasn't the best at taking pictures when my Dad was here but we had a great time.  He was awesome at taking the boys and letting Roo and I get some dates in.  We mostly went out to eat (which is so different without kids! ).  I am so thankful that he loves the boys so much and is willing to watch them.  We had Thanksgiving a day early to have dinner with him and then on the actual day we went over to a friends house.   We have been eating nonstop!

I'm pretty sure we're getting Ty something like this for Christmas.

If we were big spenders we'd get him this!

Best picture we could get on Thanksgiving

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted--time is just flying by!  My Dad is in town and he is doing a great job at playing with the kids (and letting me take naps).  He is such and fun Grandpa and I'm so glad the kids are getting to spend time with him.

2 weeks ago we went to Pensacola to go to an airshow.  We were there from 9-2 and I even commented to Roo that the kids did better than I anticipated.   Thankfully there weren't too many meltdowns!

Ryan gets a ton of sand in his shoes from the playground and school and he knows to shake it out outside.  Ty always loves to go sit by him.

Eating a snack...French fries are a good way to keep the kids happy.

Ty is going to be like big brother and love flags!

Ryan was keeping his face warm--what a nut!

Halloween

We had a fun week of festivities leading up to Halloween.   We definitely didn't need the candy but I'm glad we were able to get a lot of use out for Ryans costume.

His school had a Halloween program and a trunk or treat and then that night we went to the one at our church (where Ryan won best costume).  On Halloween we went trick or treating at a strip mall in town and then with some friends on base.

The cutest hammerhead shark ever.

There were a ton of super hero and princesses at his school.

Getting judged at the trunk or treat.

Getting even more candy.

I should have dressed Ty up in a costume.   Next year.

Ryan was a nice brother and shared some goodies.

Last weekend Roo took Ryan to a birthday party.  It was at a restaurant that had an arcade (which is always a plus with kids) and they also had live alligators out front.   Ryan had a great time...and I had an equally great time taking a nap with the baby.

Ryan with all of his tickets.  He used them to buy little army men...which he says he loves his soldiers.

Mullet festival

Last weekend we went to a local festival (the fish, not the hair style).  We had a lot of fun looking at all of the vendors and watching some gymnastics/dance demonstrations.   I'm thankful that there are so many family things we can enjoy.

Some Army Rangers were showing off some local wildlife--this was about as close as Ryan would get.

Enjoying a bit of shade before the show

Elsa, Anna, and Olaf from Frozen were there.   Ryan asked me to take him to see them...and then he wouldn't get any closer.  You can see them in the back ground.

Just because I'm sure my Mom wants to see one of Ty

We have already had a fun week!   Roo had Monday off so after school we went bowling.   Sadly none of us even broke 100.  For the next few days we have a friend and her daughter staying with us so we're having fun catching up and eating out.

We have a new tradition of taking selfies when sitting in traffic...which happens a lot out here.

Fun bowling

The boys had fun opening a package from Grandpa

Ty and Sydney at Sams Club.   I was pretty impressed I made it out of the house with both of them.

If you've been on Facebook lately--you can stop reading now.   These pictures have already been posted there, but I just got an email from my mom saying she can't access email so to put more pictures up on the blog.  I'm sure she just forgot her password since she only looks at FB probably once a year.  Literally.

Saturday we met up with some friends from our ward at the beach.   Every one was impressed with what a good swimmer Ryan is!

Tuesdays at the mall here the carousel rides are free from 5-9...so we took advantage and rode at least 5 times.  This was only the 2nd time that Ryan got on a horse--normally he'd sit on the bench, so I was pretty proud of him.

Ty is a total water baby.  And Roo is just a babe.  He's going back to the roots of when we met with his hair cut.

Last Wednesday we went to a local chicken joint we've discovered and took it to a park.  The boys had a fun time running around and I had a run time not trying to contain Ty to a high chair.

Ryan went to a pirate themed birthday party which was a blast!  There was a treasure hunt and everything.   I'm glad he could experience it because I'm sure he won't ever get one of those.   Sorry kids.

Ty loved the carousel too.  Maybe seeing the baby on the rides helps Ryan to ride it.

The fair

The fair was in town and thankfully Roo was around so we could all go.  He was a trooper and rode the rides with Ryan--while I just tried to contain Tyler.  Ryan had a lot of fun and I got to eat some funnel cake so it was definitely a win/win.

Ryan was finally tall enough to ride the slides!   Of course he didn't want to at first but then he loved it!

I just love how Ty loves to take selfies!
