Chicago

We had a fun time catching up with family in Chicago...and maybe more importantly riding the train downtown. Ryan LOVED that part.
Ryan with Uncle Andy (whom he thought was hilarious).

Ryan had a good time getting to know Great Papa better.  As always, Ryan was the hit of the senior center.

I'm not sure the story behind this picture...I'm assuming it has to do with the elections

Waiting for the train to take us downtown.

Enjoying riding on the top deck with Papa.

Because Ryan is so spoiled my Mom and I took him to Chicago the next day too.  We couldn't pass up seeing the window displays at Macys.

Wearing his honorary Penguin t-shirt from my Dad's bowling team.

Eating some popcorn that we had to walk for miles to find.  Maybe not really...but it sure felt like it.

Ryan really enjoyed the Bean

Waiting for the train home.

Fun at the mall

I'm still trying to get caught up blogging...so here's some more pictures from Chicago.  It was great to get to fly with both of my parents...they definitely helped relieve some of the stress that I get (even though Ryan is an AWESOME traveler).

So excited to board the plane with Grandpa

At the mall (which on a side note is completely amazing.  It has 3 stories...and I still don't think that I've ever been around the whole thing) they have a play area for kids.  It was $10.  Ryan liked it for about 5 minutes, but I made him play for at least 20.

Sorry that I'm behind on posting...we went to Chicago last week and I'm still trying to unpack and then pack for leaving this week. Here are some pictures from after Halloween.

The day after Halloween Ryan kept bringing me his Halloween candy.  I couldn't figure out how he kept getting it...until I saw that he moved the stool over to reach it on the counter.  Kind-of genius.

No week would be complete without a game of bowling

Halloween

I was a total slacker this year and didn't plan on a costume for Ryan.  It's kind-of hard because 1. Ryan won't keep anything on this head/face and 2. because most costumes require something being on a head/face.  So I decided that he would go as Waldo.  I had a striped shirt and figured that it'd be easy enough to draw some glasses on him.  As you can see he didn't really dig it.  We took him to the mall (with the rest of the parents in Tacoma) where he wasn't really into trick-or-treating.  Maybe next year he'll enjoy it more.

He was pretty upset...and just kept asking "wipe off.  wipe off".

On the way to the mall

A dum dum dulled the pain a little...though every couple of minutes he would remember that he had something on his face and start crying.

Pumpkin Patch

Sorry that I haven't updated this in a while...I've been having technical difficulties. Here are some pictures from our first weekend in WA when my Dad took us to a pumpkin patch. Ryan picked out a pumpkin for the cat, the cat, Grandpa, Grandma, and himself.

He was so proud of this choices!
