An extra week

Andrews' report date to show up in North Carolina got pushed back a week so are able to spend a couple more days together. Jim had already bought his airline tickets so they were just going to stick to their original schedule, but he decided to change his tickets so that we could spend some more time together. Thank-you so much for doing that!!

Friday's foto

Today I'm putting up pictures from our trips to Washington. We always have such a great time enjoying the beautiful sights and the wonderful Korean food.

We ate dinner at the Gonzalez' and took advantage of their beautiful views.

Another pictures at the Gonzalez'

Us on top of the Space Needle.

downtown Seattle

Another view from the Space Needle. It's kind-of crazy to see a picture of Roo with hair.

Thumb sucker

Ryan has found his thumb a couple of times. We're hoping that he doesn't realize what he's doing. We figure that with Andrew and I as parents he's already going to have messed up teeth, he doesn't need to make them worse by sucking his thumb!

I know that I have a lot of pictures/videos of Ryan sleeping but I think that he is just so adorable. I love in this video how his mouth is open.

When we were still in England I found a website that you can submit you and your husbands (or baby's daddy) pictures' and they'll combine them so that you can have a picture of what your future child might look like. This is what we got. We were a little worried, but after seeing Ryan we know that he'll grow up much cuter!

Here are some pictures that we've taken this week. Hope you enjoy!

Andrew was much better at making Ryan smile than I was.

I think that he looks like such a big boy in his chair. He can sit in it longer now before he leans over and can't get up.

He would much rather be standing than sitting...I have a feeling that he could just skip crawling and go straight to walking!

Last hit of the season

Andrew had a really great time playing softball with some of the guys from church. I had an equally fun time getting out of the house and socializing with the other wives. Last night was the last game of the season, and of course Andrew did great!

Tummy time

We try to put Ryan on his stomach every once in a while for practice. You can see by the video that he doesn't like it.

Friday foto

There's going to be a few of them. I decided to dedicate this Fridays' foto to our time in Mississippi.

Proud parents and Sean at graduation.

My parents were really proud also!
The whole family (before we started cutting Betsys mane)
At an air show on base. It was my first look at the 135.

We had a pumpkin carving contest (I'll let you guys guess who carved what)

Curry County Fair

We went to the county fair on Monday since it was Dollar Day. Of course it rained heavily right before we went, but we decided to go anyways. We figured that we probably wouldn't pay much more than a dollar so we'd better go.

For a small town it actually wasn't too bad, and we even ate some funnel cake and a deep-fried Twinkie (definitely not worth the calories, or the stomach-ache)

The boys on top of the ferris wheel.

Ryan and I. We are still new at this and forgot to pack a blanket or jacket.

Found some more

Here's an assortment of pictures that I found on Andrews' phone.

Mom and Ryan in Albuquerque. She was so proud of him that she literally went table to table to show him off!

Ryan in his souvenir from Grandpa.

Sporting the Oakley's in Denver.

Cheering on the US during the World Cup. Silly boys!

My mom the morning she left. I don't know if her leaving was harder on her or me.

Aki probably after a long night of babysitting (thanks!)

Ryan with Uncle Dave. No, Ryan isn't that pale; Yes, Dave is that tan

Us at the river in Colorado (obviously before we dunked his feet)

Pictures from the week

Since most people probably come to the blog to see pictures of Ryan, I figure that I'll just put some up from this week.

I'm lucky enough that he lets me put him on the ottoman and he'll be happy for a while, this morning we watched some tennis together.

Ryan in his bouncy chair.

Daddy is so good at putting him to sleep in the rocking chair.

Ryan getting ready to go to the fair. We even went on the ferris wheel with him.

Asleep in his swing.

Peas, Sleeping, and Wiggling.

I decided to try to give Ryan some food, it seems like he is always hungry so I figured that he might be ready. I started him on rice cereal last week, and we give him a few bites a day. I figured that he might as well try some peas while we were at it. I don't think that he particularly enjoyed them but he didn't spit them out. This isn't the most exciting video, but I figure that the grandparents will like it.

We borrowed a swing from a friend which by far has been the most used baby product that we have. Here is Ryan trying to fight falling asleep...but the swing wins again!!

I just started wiggling his legs a couple of days ago, he seems to really get a kick out of it. I even wiggled a fart out of him about 17 seconds into the video.

Date Night

Have you ever been in a movie theater waiting for the movie to start and see people come in with a baby and think how rude? Well last night we were those people. We decided to go watch Twilight: Eclipse on base, not because we're particularly into vampires, in fact I had never seen any of the movies (even though I will say that I am now officially on Team Jacob), but because it was only $1 to get in. I figure that people couldn't really get too mad if Ryan was fussy if they only paid a dollar, and we couldn't get too mad if we had to leave early for the same reason.

I am happy to say that he did really well, I only had to stand up with him a few times, and he ended up falling asleep about half way through. It just stinks that we finally found something to do for date night a week and a half before Andrew leaves.

Even though Ryan is cute all of the time, I think that he is especially cute when he is sleeping. We've had to start putting bibs on him due to the fact of how much he drools, kind-of gross.

He is getting so much better at holding up his neck.

Call me crazy but I think that it's so funny when Andrew dresses Ryan because this always happens...his outfit gets stuck on his head!! I thought Ryan looked like a Sheik..maybe that's what he'll be for Halloween.

Something new

It's amazing how fast Ryan is changing and doing new things. This weekend we've noticed him sucking on his upper lip. I think that it's pretty cute!!

Friday foto

I'm borrowing this idea from a random blog that I found where each Friday she posts an old photo. I thought that it'd be a good idea.

This picture was taken at Stonehenge on the same weekend that we went to Bath (and found the most delicious melon ice-cream!). We drove all the way to Stonehenge and pulling up to it I decided that I didn't want to pay to go in. Andrew said that we were going to go walk around since we drove all the way there, so we did. I have to admit that it wasn't our favorite outing we had in England, but at least we can say we went.

When Andy and Nikki came out to visit us they said that they wanted to go see it but I told them that it's probably much neater the way that they have it envisioned in their heads, so we didn't go.

Rice Cereal

I thought that it might be time for Ryan to start eating some rice cereal so we thought that we'd give it a try. I can't believe how big he is getting.

He was still a little wobbly in his chair, but he's able to hold his head up a lot better. It seemed like he didn't mind the cereal, at least he wasn't spitting it back out.

Then the after math of the rice cereal...
I keep telling him to save his tears for Grandma.

Denver/Utah

We just got back from a great visit; we really appreciate Jim and Aki, and Dave and Tara for being so gracious and letting us stay with them. It was great to get to see everyone and have one last family outing before Andrew leaves for training.

We are so grateful that Ryan is a great traveler. Here he is en-route...we try to get out of the car every couple of hours to give him a break, it seems to help the car ride go smoother.

While we were in Denver we were able to meet up with some of the cousins, they all thought that Ryan was so cute. We were able to enjoy some sunshine and have some fun on the lake in Evergreen.
by the end of the day we all switched to canoes, much easier!

We stopped by the old neighborhood in Springville, it's amazing how much it has grown. We were able to stop by and see the Charles', they haven't changed at all.

me outside the old house

I also was able to meet up with some friends from High school, I still can't believe that we graduated 11 years ago!! It's amazing how fast time flies by.

Suzanne has a 14 month old, Abby. It was great to get to see her and Sheri, and also Becca and Kjirsten.

We had a great visit with Dave, Tara, Sam, Will, and Ben. It was fun to get to catch up with them, hopefully we can do that more often.

Here are some videos of Ryan:

Here is one when he was really happy in the morning
I love his double chin!! It might not be so cute in 10 years from now, but for now I think it's so adorable.

Here is one that we took on the way back to Denver. It probably was a little mean of us, but we couldn't resist. Sorry that the sound cuts out for a few seconds.
