picture overload

I decided to upload a TON of pictures in between playing Bejeweled...so enjoy!!  Most of them are from last week when we went to Denver so see Roo's family.

Modeling a hat.  Yes, I am physically restraining him from taking it off

Not to sure what was going on here.  I'm going to guess that he was mad that I wouldn't pick him up.

Training him to be one of the Asian kids in Cirque de Soliel...look at that balance.

Enjoying breakfast.

Playing with a truck that Roo played with when he was a baby.

He was trying to fit his cup in it.  Genuis!

Happy baby!!

enjoying breakfast with Papa

I went on a couple of walks when I was there...and this was the beautiful scenery.

Ryan listening to a little Usher on our walk.   As a side note, James and Becky let me try out their B.O.B stroller.  LOVED it.  If I had one I might actually go on walks.  And if it weren't a thousand degrees here.

More of nature.

On our way to the nature hike we saw some elk.

Roo called this our "prom pose" picture.

Us before the hike (which wasn't suppose to take very long)

The views were beautiful

The boys.  Yes, they are as high as they look.  Scary!!

3 of the 4 brothers.

Us enjoying the view before we got lost.  Not too sure why the only brother not to take a survival course was the one navigating (Just kidding Dave).  But seriously, it was a LONG walk.

This is the first time that Roo has flown with us, and the first time that Ryan sat by a window.  I'm sold on always sitting by a window.  He LOVED it.

As you can tell by his plane watching, he's definitely a McLay.

Us on the drive back to Clovis.  I don't think he was too enthusiastic about the drive.

Fun weekend

Ryan and I have had a fun weekend visiting with Roo and hanging out with our friends, Jennifer and Aaron.  We got together for a game night and had a FUN time...I'm looking forward to the next time!  This weekend Roo and I watched X-Men, worked out at the YMCA, pawned a necklace that friend gave me in Korea that Roo wouldn't let me wear (it was from a guy)...got $40!!, snuck into Costco again, and had neat experiences eating out with a 13 month old.
Ryan is starting to enjoy juice.  I'll start to enjoy it more once he stops squeezing the box and getting juice everywhere.

The boys at Costco...testing out office chairs.

Smiling on our way to dinner

At dinner.  Roo and I have learned to take turns eating...and eat fast

Here's some video of Ryan walking with his toy.

Friday foto: Wedding

I figure since it's almost out Anniversary I'll post a picture from our wedding.  I know my blog has been focusing on self-acceptance lately, but I have to say that I DO NOT like how I did my make-up...hence why we have no wedding pictures hanging up anywhere.

I never was one of those girls who dreamed about my wedding growing up.  I never thought about how I was going to wear my hair or what kind-of make-up I wanted.  So when the day came..it seemed like a great idea to plaster on the make-up and get VERY long fake-lashes (I'm pretty sure that my Mom tried to talk me out of them...but I love me some eyelashes).  Don't really know what I was thinking.  If I had to do it again (no, I'm not trying to hint at anything), I definitely would go for a more natural look.  I have to say though...I think that Roo looks so handsome!!

Thanks Grandpa

I totally blame my Dad for getting Ryan hooked in smoothies (and I blame my self a little for supporting his habit).  I got one after the gym last night (I figure it has a daily serving of fruit right?), and this is how Ryan reacted after it was gone.  Poor kid.

More of Ryan

Since I'm sure most people come here looking for pics of Ryan...here are some.  If you're interested in how I'm doing, I'm doing pretty well.  I went to the Y this afternoon (I really wasn't feeling a workout) but said that I would exercise at least 30 minutes.  I made it to 24.  They have a boot camp class tonight that I'm thinking about going to.  It's always easier for me to workout in a class, I'm definitely less likely to walk out after a couple of minutes.

This doesn't look comfortable, but he loves sleeping with his head pressed up against something.

watching some tennis

He loves turning on and off the cable box...which gets pretty annoying when you're trying to watch T.V.

Sunday

Today we had a good day.  I survived teaching the lesson in Relief Society, and then had dinner and played games with great friends.  We missed Roo, but he had a "fun" time himself participating in a triathlon in Colorado yesterday.  Hopefully we'll get pictures of that soon!!

I decided since it was Sunday that I'd gel Ryan's hair.  I wonder if it's sad though that the 5 seconds that I spent doing his hair was 5 more than I spent doing mine.  Hey...when my baby daddy isn't around I'm not trying to impress anyone.  Hopefully I didn't scare off any investigators!
It's kind-of hard to see, but he's sporting a spiky mo-hawk

I think it looks so cute gelled!

Winking like Grandma taught him

another view of the spikes

As I was cleaning up I thought this was funny!!  At least he's creative and using whatever he can (don't mind the dipping sauce.  I may or may not have given into a BK craving)

I LOVE this boy!!

I'm probably pretty biased, but I think that Ryan is the cutest ever!!  He really enjoys making faces at the camera.

Such a silly boy!

I nearly fell over when I saw that he climbed up on the box.  I guess I need to pay better attention.

What a nut!

Day ? of 21

Obviously I haven't been doing a very good job at this, so I'll just start again today...and say it's day 12 (that's a nice even number)

  • I am thankful for time.  About two weekends ago I wasn't having the best day...so I looked into joining the Reserves.  It was on a weekend so I just submitted my number to have somebody call me.  I really think that at that moment I would have signed my life away.  Again.  Of course since Roo is Active Duty I would have had to have a plan for Ryan for when I'd go to training...and I nominated my parents.  You guys wouldn't mind right?  So needless to say I'm thankful that Air Force Recruiters work bankers hours.

  • I am so thankful for medicine.  I am so glad that we live in a day and age where we have all kinds of medicine available to us.  I felt so bad for Ryan being sick, and I'm so grateful that there are things out there to make him feel better.

Friday foto: Our first picture

I guess it's almost a Saturday foto...but I figure better late than never.

Here is the first picture of Roo and I together (which you guys would be so proud--it's on our way to church).  It was taken in Roo's apartment, where the Christmas lights and American flag as decor should have been a sign.  In all fairness to him...it was December.  I am pretty sure that he kept them up all year round though!

Pretty much the best kid ever

Ryan hasn't been feeling too well these past couple of days.  Yesterday he had a pretty high fever so I took him in to see the doctor.  These pictures are after we waited in the hospital for over 4 hours (LONG story...one that I'll save for a comment card).  Then of course we had to wait at Walgreen's for his medication to be ready.  Judging by these pictures though, you wouldn't be able to tell that he wasn't feeling well.  He's such a good boy!!
Pulling at his ear

Big smiles for me.

I think that he was just trying to make me laugh with this picture.  He probably could tell that I was highly frustrated!!

Today he was feeling a little better and more talkative.   And just to clarify I just rest the camera on the passenger seat when I'm driving...safety first!
